Job summary:
Reporting to Head of Technology, the Project manager will manage a team of software developers. He/she will be responsible for project initiation, design, execution, testing (software testing and user acceptance testing) and delivery. If required, the Project Manager will identify and get the work done from software development vendors.

Desired Candidate Profile

Software Knowledge:

- Java, Spring IoC and MVC, Hibernate
- Tomcat and Maven
- XML/XSLT
- Oracle 11g Database
- PMP Certification an asset.

Scope:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a software development out of which 3 years direct work experience in a project management capacity and management/leadership, including all aspects of process development and execution.
• Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Visual Source Safe.
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Flexible during times of change.
• Communication and documentation
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to independently communicate with customer via conference calls, e-mails, video conference, etc.
- The Project Manager is expected to be familiar with standard documentation processes followed in IT industry, including understanding document for the project, technical documentation, creation of user guide, preparation of UAT, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Job Description
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Work together with team leads to plan and execute projects, ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
• Track and report the status of projects on various teams, acting as a gateway through which work should be assigned to appropriate teams while ensuring that project scope is adequately defined.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Helping developers resolve problems both technical as well as human resources issues, tracking and approving vacation and personal days for employees within their teams and monitoring individual employees’ performance and relaying this to upper management.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
• Recruitment and selection of software developers.
