1) Spring framework (4+ years of experience overall. This includes Spring core, Spring MVC and a reasonable understanding of Spring AOP and its application to transaction management for hibernate)
2) Hibernate(4+ years)
3) Build management and understanding of source control/configuration management using tools like maven and teamcity and scripts like goovy
4) Test Driven Development using junit, mockito, selenium etc.
5) Agile Scrum methodology
6) Team leadership skills
7) Design skills(UML and database schema design)
8) Ability to understanding application's caching like ehcache, oscache
9) The to go guy who is the most wanted in any organization for technical issues and one who is on his way to be the architect.

The hiring process would comprise of an aptitude test (Logic questions and puzzles) followed by a Java interview which will include core java questions, algorithms, J2EE spring, hibernate and finally followed by a personal interview.
