Recruitment as a process continues to evolve. But as job jumps, industry jumps, botched cvs, unsure applicants, changing job profiles, confused academics, any many such variables take precedence over a clear cut understanding of skills & systematic building of careers as earlier generations did, Recruiting Intelligence needs to be honed now to more than ever. Job sites & interviews are no longer the only requisites. Its Intuitive Recruiting that's the need of the hour.
Years of experience, coupled with a good recruiter's keen 6th sense, is needed now more than ever. The wrong people placed with the wrong jobs, profile mismatches, early attrition, loss of training budgets for such manpower & of course botched careers because of wrong jobs & amp; misinformation, there are so many heads to this monster of inept recruitment with a thousand new 'Recruitment consultancies' & 'Manpower agencies' sprouting at every corner, do they really care about a real human being's career & the future of the organization they recruit for? Most are fly by night outfits, which fly away once they've earned some moolah. As also many companies which see its employees only as a means to an end & few really help them in their career progressions.
So, its very important to know your profile, to know what career you wish to follow, what you need to do to get there & people & which companies will help you get there. Or else, as someone obviously intelligent once said, 'If you don't know where you're going, you'll land up somewhere else!'
